Biography
Janet Aurora, of Oak Hill, Virginia, has been professionally decorating for over 5 years. She is a national design-award winner in categories including best overall room design, best theme room and best accessorizing. Her designs have also been shown in the Washington Post and the Washington Times. As the company's top sales designer, she has been able to extend her design training beyond the United States to France and study with internationally acclaimed designer and author, Mary Gilliatt.
The wealth of her team's design experience in contemporary, traditional and Old World styles makes her an asset in any design project. Her clients love their spaces because they are functional, yet offer high design aesthetics. She explains, 'I work with my clients to carefully integrate their style and some existing furnishings with new elements to introduce color and texture. My goal is to help them build an environment that suits their taste and leaves them absolutely delighted.'
As a businesswoman, an active church member, a wife and mother of three young children, Janet is familiar with the needs families have for their living spaces - whether it's room for children to play, adults to entertain, teenagers to study, or for all to relax with the family pet. Janet has access to over 300 manufacturers of furniture, upholstery, area rugs, flooring, custom window treatments including draperies, top treatments valances, shades and blinds, bedding, accessories, lighting, and artwork. She also has access to over 80,000 SKUs of fabric to satisfy even the most discriminating preferences and styles.
Prior to her interior decorating career, as a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with both a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA, Janet enjoyed a successful 14-year career as a Systems Consultant followed by a few years home-raising children. Janet’s background in business has enabled her to carefully hone her customer service skills which she incorporates into her concept of interior decorating.
